What does it mean to be the Righteousness of Christ? How do I know this and what tells me that I truly am righteous?
2 Corinthians 5:21 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. New King James Version (NKJV)
1 Corinthians 1:30 30 But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God—and righteousness and sanctification and redemption— New King James Version (NKJV)
1 Corinthians 13:8 8 Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away. New King James Version (NKJV)
It’s interesting to note that God does not want us to strive to please Him or serve Him out of duty. By trying to serve Him in that way we find ourselves always in bondage because we will always worry that we are not doing enough. Christ invites us into deep intimacy with Him. Accept that invitation. This will allow Him to wipe away any bondage mentality. He wants an intimate relationship with us. He wants to be our friend and He wants us to be His friend. As a friend of God we find that He loves the motives of our hearts and wishes to manifest Himself to us. As a friend of His he wants to know about our struggles and about what keeps us from just letting go and enjoying that free wonderful fellowship with Him.
Now, that’s a good offer. You won’t get an offer like that from anywhere else. Take Him up on His offer. He’s thinking on you. He is looking forward to spending time together.
